Makini Bridgewater (she/her) is a consulting Grant Writer & Project Manager for nonprofit organizations. Makini ushered in over USD $1.25M in program, operational and COVID-19 relief funding for her clients in 2021.

Based in Texas for over a decade, Makini has a background in Industrial Engineering and a keen interest in implementing process improvements that impact revenue margins, resource productivity, and stakeholder satisfaction. She brings this same analytical toolkit to the nonprofit domain to build capacity and drive strategic partnership that leads to successfully funded proposals.

Despite having a knack for numbers, Makini scored a full 800 on her SAT Verbal test – a gentle foreboding of her future successes in organizational storytelling for noteworthy nonprofits.

Successful grant writing collaboration requires deep familiarity with an organization. This includes but is not limited to its mission, history, operations, programs, leadership, staff, and clients. Grant Runner is intentional in partnering with organizations whose values align closely with their mindset.

Grant Runner is committed to providing equal opportunities to all clients, contractors, and employees without regard to race, religion, color, age, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic disposition, neuro-diversity, physical size, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category under governing law.

Furthermore, Grant Runner recognizes that often the organizations primarily serving historically marginalized communities may lack the financial assets, human resources and social networks to access partners and programs that would support their operations or build their capacity. Any such organization exploring services with Grant Runner may reach out directly to Makini Bridgewater makini@grantrunner.com to inquire about consulting support towards bridging these gaps.
